Just realized my grocery bill went from $210 a week to $140, and the only thing I changed was where I bought meat
Six months ago I was spending around $210 every week at the big grocery store near my house in Akron. I started getting my chicken and ground beef from a local butcher instead, and my weekly bill dropped to about $140. The weird part is the meat is fresher and I'm actually buying less because I'm not tossing half of it after two days. I also started writing down what I threw out each week, and it was close to $30 of wasted food before. The butcher is only a five minute detour on my way home from work, so it is not like I am going out of my way. Has anyone else noticed the big chains charging more for meat that goes bad faster?
