My brother told me to stop buying name brand trash bags. He was right.

He said pay $10 for 100 Kirkland bags instead of $18 for Glad. I finally tried it last month and they hold the same amount of junk without ripping. Anyone else find a generic that actually works better?

Man I had the exact same realization last year when my dog knocked over the kitchen trash and I was like hey wait a minute... these Kirkland bags didn't rip at all and my dog is basically a bulldozer. Then I felt kinda dumb for all those years I was paying extra for Glad like some kind of brand snob. Now I'm the guy at Costco buying six boxes of garbage bags like I'm preparing for the apocalypse or something. It's a real turning point in your life when you start getting excited about saving two bucks on trash bags.

Honestly though, if you're not picky about how tight the seal is or how long the bag holds smells, then yeah Kirkland is fine. But I've had them leak gross liquid from food scraps more than once, and that's a dealbreaker for me.
