My dishwasher died mid-cycle and the repair quote made me laugh out loud

Last Tuesday my dishwasher just stopped right in the middle of the wash cycle, water sitting in the bottom. Called a local repair guy in Spokane and he quoted me $380 just for the part plus labor. I bought this thing used for $150 two years ago. Told him thanks but no thanks, then spent $40 on a new drain pump and fixed it myself in about 2 hours with a YouTube video. Water everywhere during the swap but it works now. Has anyone else hit that point where the repair cost is double the appliance's value? What did you do?
