My dresser rescue with garage paint
Almost bought a new one, but remembered the paint can in the garage. It's not perfect, but it saved me a couple hundred bucks.

Ever toss something out only to need it later? I used to be really picky about paint, only buying new cans for projects. Then I tried using leftover garage paint on an old nightstand, just to see. The color was weird but it came out kinda cool, and now that beat-up table is my favorite piece. Seeing what you did makes me want to check my own garage for another project.

My basement has three half-used paint cans from past projects. I used to ignore them and buy new paint every time I wanted to change something. But after making myself use what I had on a bookshelf, I saw how much stuff we already own that can be used again. Now I notice it a lot, like friends buying new tools when their old ones just need cleaning. It's not just about saving cash, it's about stopping the urge to always get new stuff. Your dresser fix shows how using what you have can make something special.
