I just figured out my bullet journal habit was making me avoid it

I was setting up my weekly spread every Sunday night and it took me over an hour. I saw a post here from someone who said they only spend 15 minutes because they use a basic template. That was my lightbulb moment. I was so focused on making it perfect with drawings and colors that the work kept me from actually writing in it. For three months, my journal was more art project than planning tool. Now I keep it simple and actually use it every day. Has anyone else had to stop overcomplicating their spreads to make the system work?

Yeah that "art project" thing is so real. I mean it's easy to get stuck in the setup and forget the whole point is just to use it.

Ever think the setup was the whole point?
