My old coworker in Dallas said to stop making my daily spreads ahead of time, and now I'm stuck arguing with myself about it
About 8 months ago a guy I worked with in Dallas, Marcus, told me to quit drawing out my daily spreads a week ahead because "you're just making a cage for yourself." I blew him off at first. But then I tried it his way for a month, and honestly my pages felt way less stiff, I actually used them instead of just filling in boxes. The catch is I'm scatterbrained by 7am and some days I write nothing at all because a blank page at 6:45 feels like too much work. So now I'm torn. Side A says pre-drawn spreads keep me consistent and I finish 6 out of 7 days. Side B says the looseness is the point and I shouldn't force it. I've been going back and forth for weeks and my journal looks like two different people own it. If you've tried both, which one actually stuck for you past the 3 month mark?
