Spent $200 on the fancy dot grid notebook and honestly it was a total waste
Ngl I finally caved and bought one of those hyped bullet journal notebooks for $200 at my local shop in Portland last week and I regret it so much. The paper bleeds through with my gel pens, the dots are too light to see in dim light, and the binding started falling apart after I used it for like 10 days max. Meanwhile my $12 Walmart composition book has held up for a full year with zero problems. I know everyone swears by the premium stuff but honestly the quality is not there for the price. It feels like I paid for the cover and the vibe more than anything practical. I wanted to love it because the community talks it up constantly but I'm going back to cheap notebooks. Has anyone else had a pricey journal fall apart on them or did I just get a bad one?
Did you try contacting the shop about the binding? Ten days is way too short for something that pricey to fall apart. Also curious what gel pens you were using because some of them bleed through everything no matter how thick the paper claims to be.
