Stop making your monthly logs before the month starts
I kept doing spreads in advance and then my plans would shift by day 3, so the whole layout felt useless. Last month in Portland I tried just drawing the month grid on the 1st and only adding tasks as they came up. It’s messy but way more accurate, and I spend less time erasing or leaving blank spaces. Anyone else ditch pre-drawn monthly logs for a fill-as-you-go setup?
Ha! I'm the queen of making plans that fall apart by day 2, so pre-drawing anything is basically setting myself up for failure. I did a whole cute monthly spread in January with color coded boxes for workouts, meal prep, and reading. By the 4th I had scribbled over half of it and was writing notes in the margins like a crazy person. Now I just make a plain grid and throw stuff in whenever it actually happens. Yeah it looks like a toddler got ahold of it, but at least it's honest. Some people can plan a month out and stick to it, I am not those people.
