Struggled choosing between a dot grid or lined notebook for my new journal

I was setting up my 2024 planner and got stuck deciding between a Leuchtturm dot grid or a classic Moleskine with lines. I went with the dots after a friend in Chicago said it's easier for drawing custom weekly spreads. It's been a game changer for my habit tracker layout. What notebook style do you all prefer for your setups?

Oh good, you went with the dots. That was the right call. I started with lines years ago and felt weirdly locked in, like I had to write straight across. The grid gives you just enough guide to keep things neat but you can ignore it completely when you need to. My bullet journal would be a total mess without it.

Pick dots every time. Lines make me feel like I'm back in school doing homework. The freedom is worth the slight learning curve.

Actually started with dots too but switched to blank pages last year. Found I was still trying to line things up with the dots even when I didn't need to. The blank page forced me to get over that need for perfect alignment, and my layouts got way more creative. It's a steeper curve but totally broke that homework feeling for me.
