TIL the average bullet journal user quits after 4 months based on a survey I found in a productivity blog

I stumbled on that stat while looking for layout ideas and it honestly surprised me since I've been at it for 8 months, anyone else see similar dropout numbers in their own circles?

Hold on, wait, 4 months? That is actually way shorter than I thought. I figured people would at least make it through a whole year before giving up. I mean the whole POINT is to build a habit that sticks, but I guess if you're spending two hours every Sunday drawing little headers and tracking your water intake it gets old fast. I've seen people in my own life completely burn out on it once they miss a single day and their "perfect" streak is broken.

Yeah that hits close to home, I have a shelf full of half-filled notebooks to prove it.

That stat makes total sense when you think about how many hobbies follow the same pattern. People dive in hard, buy all the supplies, spend hours setting up the perfect system, then realize maintaining it every single day is a whole different beast. I've seen it happen with meal prepping, learning guitar, and even those fancy plant watering schedules. The jump from "idea of the thing" to "doing the thing every day" is where most people tap out.
