Gave a 5 star review to a seller who mailed my package 9 days late, because his handwritten note apologizing was actually sincere
Ordered a used router bit set from a guy in Akron on the 3rd, it showed up the 19th with a note saying his kid was in the hospital. Now I feel weird that I docked the last seller a star for a 2 day delay, am I too soft on people now?

That Akron seller sat down and wrote something real while his kid was in the hospital, and that counts for more than a tracking number. A 2 day delay and a 9 day delay are different things, but both deserve a look at why before you knock a star off. So no, you are not too soft, you are just reading the whole story instead of only the shipping date.
