Left a review for a 'self-cleaning' litter box and got a call from the CEO

I bought the LuxePurr 9000 after seeing all the five star reviews about how it was a game changer. The thing worked for about a week, then it just started... launching clean litter across the room. Like, full-on projectile litter. I left a three star review saying my living room looked like a tiny beach after a storm. Two days later, the actual CEO of the company called my personal phone to apologize and ask for video proof. Has anyone else had a company go that far over a mid-level review?

Got a call from a regional manager once because I said their fancy coffee maker sounded like a dying lawnmower. He offered me a free replacement and a gift card if I took the review down, which felt a bit much for complaining about noise.

A regional manager calling over a coffee maker review seems over the top. It's just a noisy machine, not a safety hazard. Companies act like every bad comment is a crisis. They could have just sent an email or ignored it. Makes you wonder what they're trying to hide.
