PSA: I stopped trusting 5 star reviews after a $22 blender gave out on day 9
I always figured a product with 400 five star reviews had to be good, so when my old blender died I grabbed one with a 4.8 rating for $22. Around day 9 it started smelling like burning and just quit mid smoothie. Then I read the reviews closer and half of them said the same weird phrase, "works great, arrived fast," which made me think some were fake or paid. Last Tuesday I scrolled all the way to the 2 and 3 star reviews first, and those people were the honest ones. Does anyone else sort by lowest rating before buying now, or is that just me being paranoid?
Day 9 is the funniest part, it's like the blender knew the return window was closing soon. That "works great, arrived fast" line is basically the company motto for bought reviews, nobody talks like that in real life. Sorting by lowest rating first is the move, those one and two star folks have zero reason to lie and they tell you how it actually broke. I do the same thing now, and yeah it takes longer, but at least I'm not reading 400 fake happy people while my smoothie sits there burning.
