Cut a $700 toe kick one inch short and the fix came from my kid's crayon box
Was installing a run of base cabinets in a kitchen in Boise and rushed the toe kick cut because the homeowner was watching me the whole time. Sliced it an inch short, and this was a painted custom piece so no way to hide the gap. I remembered a trick an old timer showed me once, so I grabbed a scrap of the same stock, glued a filler strip on the back, and blended the seam with wood filler and paint. Homeowner never noticed, but I still check my tape twice on every toe kick now. Anybody got a better save for when you cut long stock short?
