I was dead wrong about pocket hole jigs for years

Always heard older guys say pocket holes were cheating and would never hold up. Stuck with dowels and mortise and tenon for everything, even simple cabinet boxes. Finally grabbed a Kreg jig (the $99 one) six months ago for a quick pantry job where time was tight. Load tested the joints with 50 pounds of canned goods and not a single one budged after 3 months. Now I use them for all my face frames and basic boxes, saves me about 2 hours per cabinet. Anybody else have a tool they swore off but finally gave in and tried?
