Switched from dowels to biscuits after a shop visit
I was dead set on dowel joinery for cabinet face frames for about 5 years. Then I stopped by Anderson Millwork in Portland last month and the old guy there showed me how they use a biscuit joiner for everything. He ran a test joint and I could not pull it apart by hand. I still keep dowels for alignment on panels, but do you guys use biscuits for face frames or stick with pocket holes?

Hold on. Five years of dowels and you're telling me one old guy in Portland convinced you to switch that fast with a single test joint? That's wild. Can't say I blame you, though, biscuits are pretty tough.
