The 2-part epoxy that bubbled like a soda can on my miter joint

Last Tuesday I glued up a walnut miter with some new epoxy I got from the supply house, the stuff said 5 minute cure so I mixed it fast. About 2 minutes in, it started foaming up and pushing out of the joint, looked like a shaken beer. Turns out the can had been stored in their unheated warehouse and it froze overnight, it was ruined before I even opened it. I lost the whole face frame over that, had to re-cut both pieces and start over. Now I bring a thermometer to the store or just stick with the same brand I've used for years. Has anyone else had epoxy act weird from cold storage, or am I the only one who got burned by that?
