Used a plumbing trick to fix a stubborn drawer slide and it worked

Last week I had a client in Austin call me back about a kitchen drawer that kept popping off its Blum slides no matter how many times I adjusted them. I was about to tear the whole box out when I remembered a trick my plumber buddy uses for aligning pipes, so I grabbed a 4 foot level and a scrap piece of 1/4 inch plywood. I shimmed the back of the slide with the plywood to raise it just a hair, then ran the level across both rails to check for twist. Door closed, drawer slid smooth as butter on the first try. Has anyone else used non-cabinet tools or tricks to fix something that looked like a total rebuild?
