Spent 3 hours chasing a signal leak in a Phoenix attic over one bad connector
Last Tuesday I got sent to a two story house in Phoenix where the customer kept losing internet every time the wind blew, and I figured it would be a quick 20 minute job. Three hours later I finally found the problem, a single crimp on a splitter that looked fine from the outside but had a tiny bit of shielding wire touching the center conductor, and I only caught it because I wiggled every connection one by one. Does anybody have a faster way to find a bad connector like that, or is wiggling and praying just part of the job?
Does it ever turn out to be anything other than a bad connector in this line of work? Man, three hours in a Phoenix attic sounds rough, at least you finally smoked it out.
