That cheap fish tape I bought is way better than I expected

Tbh I was real skeptical when my helper showed up with a $12 fish tape from Harbor Freight. I figured it would snap on the first 90 degree bend or just be useless plastic junk. But we had to run three lines through an attic in this old house on Maple Street and that thing held up fine for all of them. Has anyone else had a cheap tool actually surprise them like that?

Oh come on, "two full years" is a stretch unless your buddy was only using it on weekends or something. I manage a crew that does commercial painting and drywall, and we've burned through three of those in less than a year each. The heat, the dust, the constant trigger pulls just kill them. Even the heavy duty models start acting up after about 8 months of daily abuse. I call it a win if we get one to last through a single big project.
