Tried a $30 offset smoker from Walmart and actually got better bark than my $800 pellet grill

Yep, my $40 barrel smoker from a flea market turned out way better than my fancy Traeger.

Spent 2 hours chasing a misaligned fade line that was just my mirror angle

Man, that's the real question isn't it... I've definitely been guilty of jumping in headfirst with the air hose and then realizing halfway through I missed a big chunk of spooge. Like, you just get so focused on one little section you forget to step back and see the whole picture. Did Paul actually say he was working on paint correction or was it something else? Because I've spent two hours on the same spot of a bumper trying to chase out a sanding scratch and then realized my pad was contaminated the whole time. What's your usual method for spotting those initial defects before you even touch the polisher?

Had a draft horse with a cracked hoof wall that kept splitting higher up.

Wait, is that even safe for the hoof long term though? I've heard some people say super glue can trap moisture underneath and make things worse, especially if you don't get it completely dry. Wouldn't that cause a bigger problem down the line with infection or separation? I mean, I get using it in an emergency, but it seems like a gamble compared to the proper acrylic stuff.

Debate: Should we dig post holes first or set the rails before concrete sets?

I've been setting fence for 30 years and I always dig and pour all the holes first. The trick is to leave enough play in the concrete so you can bump the posts around before it sets, then run your rails after the concrete firms up but hasn't fully hardened. It sounds slower upfront but you avoid fighting half-set concrete when you need to adjust a post by half an inch, which is the same reason I approach most projects by laying a good foundation before rushing to the finish.

Just figured out why my book cloth was bubbling after 4 years of fighting it

Switched to Lineco paste years ago and never looked back.
