Update: The crawl space job that ate my whole Friday

Got called out to a house in Springfield for a simple coax run to a new home office. The crawl space access was in a closet, no big deal, right? Wrong. The previous installer had just tossed a huge bundle of old, unused cable across the entire length of the house, blocking the path completely. It was a rat's nest of RG-59 and chewed-up RG-6, all tangled with insulation. I figured an hour to clear it. It took me four hours just to cut out and pull all that old junk, and my back is killing me from being hunched over. Why do people just leave their trash for the next guy? Has anyone else had a simple job blow up because of someone else's lazy cleanup?

Ugh, that sounds brutal. Was the old cable at least cut cleanly at the ends, or did you have to deal with a bunch of crusty, ancient connectors too?

Crusty ancient connectors" is my middle name, I'm basically an archaeologist at this point.
