That sticky shutter issue on the Pentax 6x7 nearly cost me a roll of client film
I tried cleaning the mirror bumper foam with isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, and the foam turned into a gooey mess that got all over the shutter blades. Took me 2 hours with a blower brush and some patience to get it working again. Anybody got a better trick for removing that old foam without it turning into glue?

Miles 6x7 owner here and honestly I've had the same thing happen with alcohol before. Idk maybe it's just me but people act like a little sticky foam is gonna ruin your whole camera forever. I just use a toothpick and carefully scrape it off dry, takes 10 minutes tops and you never risk the gunk getting where it shouldn't.

Nah, alcohol liquefies that old foam instantly. Try lighter fluid next time, dries way cleaner.
