Bought a $9 headlamp at the hardware store in Tulsa and it outlasted my $45 one from 3 years ago
Last weekend I did two nights on the Illinois River and the cheap one still had a strong beam while my fancy one dimmed out by midnight. I think the price tag tricked me into trusting the wrong light. What cheap gear has held up better than the stuff you paid good money for?

Feels bad when the expensive one quits on you like that. Getting burned by pricey gear stings worse than the money you lost.
