PSA: My tent flooded so bad I woke up floating

Last summer at Algonquin Park, I woke up at 3am in three inches of water after a random thunderstorm rolled in. My cheap Walmart tent had a giant puddle inside and my sleeping bag was totally soaked. Anyone else had a tent fail on them in the middle of the night?

My buddy's tent collapsed on him in the Boundary Waters and he had to paddle out at 2am in the rain.

Man that's rough, I've had a tent go down in bad weather before and it's no joke paddling out in the dark like that. Hope your buddy made it back okay.
