Spent $40 on a fancy titanium spork and it's the worst thing in my pack
Everyone says titanium is the ultimate lightweight material, but this thing is so slick it slides out of my grip if my hands are even a little damp. I dropped my chili in the dirt twice on a trip to the Adirondacks because of it. Anyone have a good, grippy utensil that won't break the bank?

Used to swear by titanium too until I had the same problem with a slick fork. Switched to a basic plastic spoon with a textured handle from a grocery store camping section. Costs maybe two bucks and actually stays in my hand.

Why do we always fall for the fancy gear trap? @fisher.felix you are so right, I spent way too much on a slick titanium spork that just slides out of my greasy fingers like it's trying to escape. My dumb hands need that cheap plastic texture to actually hang on to the thing. It's a little embarrassing when the two dollar spoon works better than the fancy one. I guess I just wanted to feel like a pro hiker with the cool metal gear.
