Found a quiet stretch near Kelowna that changed my weekend routine
Took a ride out to the Kettle Valley Rail Trail last Saturday and found a 15 km section past McCulloch that barely had anyone on it. The gravel was in great shape, and the old trestle views over the canyon really caught my attention. I've been sticking to the same loop for years, but this spot felt worth the extra drive. Has anyone else tried the southern end of that trail lately, or is it usually this empty?

Is the gravel pretty packed down past McCulloch, or does it get loose in the shady spots? I found a similar quiet stretch near Penticton last fall, and what worked for me was going midweek right after a dry spell, because the surface stays firm and you don't sink into the soft stuff. That extra drive totally paid off once I figured out the timing, so maybe try a weekday morning if this weekend crowd keeps showing up.
