Noticed a huge difference after cleaning my carb last weekend

My old dirtbike was bogging down every time I hit a hill. After I spent 2 hours cleaning the carb and jets, it ripped through the same trails like a new machine. Has anyone else had that moment where a simple clean job makes you feel like you got a whole new bike?

That 'like a new bike' feeling is so real. Did you have to pull the pilot jet out and actually run a wire through it, or did just spraying carb cleaner through the passages do the trick for you? I've had bikes where just getting the bowl gunk out made a world of difference, but other times the pilot jet was totally plugged and I had to dig it out with a little torch tip cleaner. Seems like the level of cleaning matters a lot for how big of a difference you notice in the end.

Last time I did this on my old XR I ended up finding a chunk of something that looked like a tiny fossilized gummy worm in the pilot jet, so yeah I had to dig it out with a torch tip cleaner and feel like a dentist for motorcycles.
