My neighbor in Boise told me to just park my project car outside, and it's cheaper and better than renting a unit
He said he saved $1,440 over two years keeping his Mustang under a $180 Noah cover in his own driveway instead of a $60 a month storage unit across town, and after trying it myself for 6 months in my own driveway the paint has held up fine, so now I'm wondering if anyone else here has ditched the unit and what they do about rust in winter.

Boise winters are mild enough that a good cover plus a wash every couple weeks will keep rust away. My buddy ran his Camaro outside for three years there and the only spot he got was where road salt sat on the rocker panel. You just have to rinse the underside after the roads get treated.
