I finally admitted the $299 resume review service was a waste, here is what I got for it
I paid $299 to a career coaching site in March for a "premium resume rewrite" and what came back was basically my own bullet points with fancy verbs swapped in. The writer also changed my job title to something I never held, which would have blown up in an interview. I got one 12 minute call with a junior coach who read my summary out loud to me. If you are thinking about paying for this, ask them for a sample rewrite of one bullet first. Has anyone found a service that really did more than spell check?

Did they really change your job title though, or did they just make it sound fancier? That part matters because if it's a title you never had, that's flat out lying, but if it's the same job with different words, it's just dumb. Either way $299 for a 12 minute call and a thesaurus pass is rough.
