Spent 3 hours chasing a squeak in a staircase I built last month, turned out to be a single nail I didn't set deep enough.
Has anyone else ever had a tiny little mistake like that eat up half your day before you finally spot it?

Used to think that was just lucky coincidence. But @victor_butler, it's usually some tiny overlooked thing causing weeks of hassle. Had a car that wouldn't start right for months, turned out to be a loose ground wire. Smallest thing, hidden in plain sight the whole time.
