That time 3 years ago I framed a wall backwards and nobody noticed

Back in 2021 I was working a basement reno down in Nashua and rushed through this interior wall layout. Did the whole thing with studs on 16 inch centers, plates nailed, the works. But I put the door opening on the wrong side of the room completely. The homeowner came down, looked at it, and said 'looks good' so I just left it. Six months later the drywall guy called me laughing because he had to scribe around my mistake. Has anyone else just blundered through a framing job and had it work out anyway?

Most mistakes like that only work out because nobody wants to admit they didn't catch it either. The homeowner probably looked at that wall and figured you knew what you were doing, so he just nodded along. It's like when someone hands you the wrong change and you don't say anything because you're already halfway out the door. Life runs on people pretending everything is fine.

Exactly. I once built a whole deck 6 inches too low and the guy just said "looks good" while standing in a puddle. Figured he was just being polite about my new swimming pool feature.
