Did a quick before and after on this carpet job in Phoenix and wow the difference is crazy

Pulled up some old beige berber that had been down since like 2012. Customer had dogs and kids, thing was nasty. Put in a nice medium gray plush with good pad underneath. Same room, 3 hours apart. The old carpet had this yellow tint from sun and stains that I didn't even notice until I saw the new stuff next to it. Anyone else get surprised by how bad old carpet actually looks once you have the new roll sitting there?

Read somewhere that a darker gray is actually the most forgiving color for high traffic homes. That yellow tint thing happens way more in desert climates from what I've seen. Night and day difference once you see the new carpet though it's almost embarrassing to look back.

Saw a video where a guy said gray hides pet hair better than beige ever did.
