Yeah those sticky clips are pretty much garbage once they get any humidity. I'd skip adhesive altogether and get some magnetic cable clips instead. You can get a pack of 20 on Amazon for like six bucks and they hold way better than glue ever will. Just make sure your desk legs are metal though... I made that mistake and had to return them.
