Hot take: seaming tape brand matters way more than I thought
I used the same cheap seaming tape for years cause it was $10 a roll cheaper. Last month I did a job in a big living room in Austin and the seam popped open after two days. Had to go back and redo the whole thing for free. Now I only buy the good stuff even if it hurts the wallet at first.

Oh man, I feel this in my BONES. I had a similar nightmare with a cheap tape on a bathroom remodel and it bubbled up within a week in the humidity. Had to rip out half the tiles and start fresh, which was a total loss on labor and materials. It's a punishment learning the hard way, but now I'm a total snob about brands too. That "saving" ten bucks a roll just isn't worth the headache when you're crawling back to fix your own work.
