I finally hit 500 square feet of carpet laid in a single day

Honestly, I've been installing for about 3 years now and my personal best was always around 350 feet. But last Thursday, I had a straightforward bedroom job with no obstacles and just found my rhythm. I used a power stretcher the whole way and barely had to stop for adjustments. Has anyone else managed to break 500 and what tricks helped you get there?

That 500 foot mark is no joke. I got close once on a big open basement but then hit a support pole and my day completely fell apart.

Well isn't that just the way it goes. You think you've got all the room in the world and then a pole comes out of nowhere to humble you.
