I switched from a 6-inch to a 12-inch seam roller for broadloom and the difference is huge
I was doing a big job in a Denver apartment complex last month, laying down a lot of continuous carpet. I used my old 6-inch roller for the first room and the seams just didn't look as flat. For the next room, I grabbed a 12-inch roller from my truck. It put way more even pressure across the whole seam, and the adhesive set perfectly with no ridges. Has anyone else made a switch like that and noticed a big improvement?

Nah, not over the top at all. A bigger roller just works better for long seams, plain and simple. You get a flatter finish.

Flatter finish" - man that's exactly what I need in my life, and in my painting apparently. Meanwhile my tiny roller makes little seams look like a topographical map of the Himalayas.
