My buddy said my $6 spaghetti night was missing one thing and he was right
I had been making the same cheap spaghetti for like two months straight, just canned sauce, ground beef when it was on sale, and whatever pasta was cheapest that week. My buddy Rob ate a plate at my place back in March and said flat out that it tasted like something was missing, so I started dumping a spoonful of the pasta water into the sauce and it coats everything way better now. Anyone else have a small trick like that, something that costs basically nothing but makes a cheap meal taste way better?
Wait, Rob called it out after just one plate? That pasta water thing is real though, the starch thickens the sauce so it actually sticks to the noodles instead of sliding off. How much are you adding, like a quarter cup, or just a splash?
