Just had a sous chef tell me my plating was too 'old school'

He said my sauce swoosh looked dated, but I've been doing this 15 years and customers at our Boston bistro never complain about it. Anyone else getting pushback from younger cooks on classic techniques?

That whole vibe is just part of the constant cycle where every generation thinks they invented good taste.

Oh man @alicecooper you totally nailed it. It's like how my dad used to swear his music was the only real music and now I catch myself doing the same thing with 90s alternative. But it goes way beyond just music and fashion. I see it with how people talk about "kids these days" with their phone addiction like we weren't glued to our Game Boys or TV shows. Every generation has that blind spot where they think their way was the only right way and everyone else is just messing it up.
