Just fixed a draft issue that took me 6 hours to find
Old farmhouse in Vermont, homeowner said smoke was backing up. I checked the flue, the damper, everything looked clean. Turns out a bird nest was jammed halfway down the smoke shelf, hidden behind a slight bend. Took me 6 hours with a scope and a hooked rod to finally pull it out. Has anyone else dealt with a hidden blockage that wasn't visible from either end?

Scope the whole chimney next time, nests hide in those bends like crazy.
