A flooded bike path in Portland made me rethink my commute entirely

Last month I was pedaling to work on the Springwater Corridor and hit a spot where the trail was completely underwater after three days of rain, so I had to turn around and take a bus. That detour added 40 minutes and got me thinking about how little infrastructure we have for weather-proofing active transit routes. Has anyone else had a specific moment where local flooding or extreme heat forced them to change how they travel, and did it push you toward any climate action in your town?

Isnt it wild how our whole car system just shrugs off weather that totally stops bikes and buses?
