Took me 6 hours to swap a tool holder because I forgot one stupid step

I was setting up a new job on my Haas and could not get the tool to sit right in the holder. Kept thinking it was the collet or the drawbar. After 6 hours of messing around I realized I had left a tiny bit of old coolant gunk in the taper of the spindle. Cleaned it out with a rag and it seated perfect on the first try. Has anyone else wasted a whole shift on something this simple?

6 hours" sounds like you need a better cleaning routine, not a confession.

9 out of 10 times "it takes me 6 hours to clean my whole house" means you're including scrolling through Instagram for two of those hours (guilty as charged). @jade_butler I'm pretty sure you could knock that out in 90 minutes with a podcast and some motivation, not a full workday. But hey, if you're counting the time it takes to decide which corner dust bunny to tackle first, then yeah 6 hours sounds right.
