Debugging on a train platform changed my whole approach

So I was stuck on a 45 minute delay in Union Station last month, and instead of just doomscrolling I pulled out my laptop to fix a loop that kept skipping every third item in my practice project. I had been staring at the same code for 6 hours at home, but there on the bench, with people walking past and announcements blaring, I finally traced it back to a counter reset I placed in the wrong spot by two lines. That got me thinking: does a change of scenery genuinely help beginners debug faster, or was it just luck that my brain finally clicked? I used to think you needed a quiet room and zero distractions to code, but now I'm leaning toward the opposite, that mild chaos forces you to focus harder. Has anyone else had a random location break a mental block, or am I just romanticizing a train delay?
