Burnt my pour over so bad I almost quit

I was at my kitchen counter in Denver, half asleep at 6 AM. Forgot the timer, let it drain dry, and the coffee came out black and bitter. Took one sip and dumped the whole carafe down the sink. That's when I realized I'd been rushing every morning and treating it like a chore. Has anyone else hit that wall where you just need to slow down and reset?

Oh man, you're totally right. I did the exact same thing last month - dumped a whole batch of beans I'd been saving for a weekend treat because I was rushing to get my kid to school. The burnt taste was just the cherry on top of a morning where I'd already spilled milk on my shirt and couldn't find my keys. It's wild how a messed up brew can feel like the universe is personally attacking you when you're already running on fumes.

Whoa, hold on. I don't think the coffee was the real issue. You were probably tired and annoyed about something else before you even poured the water. That burnt cup was just the breaking point for a mood that was already sour.
