The $15 aeropress filter pack I almost skipped

I thought reusable metal filters were the only way to go, but after 3 tries with clogged up coffee I grabbed a pack of paper ones on a whim. That first cup was so clean and bright I actually texted my buddy about it, has anyone else had a cheap swap totally change their brew?

Right? I almost didn't buy them either because I figured paper filters were just for old people (sorry, grandma), but that first pour was like, where has this been my whole life. The metal ones always left this weird oily film for me (you know, like a slick layer on top of the coffee) and I just thought that was normal. Then the paper ones came in and suddenly my coffee tasted like... actual coffee, not muddy water. Now I'm one of those annoying people who tells everyone about their aeropress paper filter discovery (and they probably roll their eyes at me). It's wild how a 15 dollar pack of tiny circles can be the upgrade no one warned you about, honestly.

Wait, you actually texted your buddy about it? That's wild to me. I mean I get really into coffee stuff too but I draw the line at texting people about filter paper. I just grunt at my wife about it and she pretends to care.
