I finally got my hands on a graded copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 and it was a huge mistake

Spent almost $800 on a CGC 2.0 slab from an online auction, thinking it was a solid investment for my collection. The book itself is fine, but the grading feels super harsh for the price, and now I'm stuck with this expensive piece of plastic. Has anyone else felt burned by a big-ticket slab purchase?

Wendy brings up a good point about the grader's notes, but honestly, a 2.0 grade for what you described sounds like a raw deal. I've seen lower grade books that look worse get a higher number. The problem with slabbing is you are paying for that plastic and the number, not always the actual book condition. $800 is a lot of money to drop on a book you feel was graded too harsh. It feels like you bought the slab, not the comic. I hope you can find a way to break even on it, maybe through a private sale to someone who values the book more than the grade.

Did you check the grader's notes or just go by the number on the slab? Sometimes the notes explain the harsh grade.
