My local comic shop in Portland had a line around the block for a variant cover last month

It was for a new Spider-Man issue, and the crowd got so big and pushy that a display got knocked over. I saw a kid get his new book bent because people were rushing. The owner had to shut it down and switch to a lottery system right then. Now I just don't go to big release days anymore, it's not worth the hassle. Has your shop had to change how they handle big releases to keep things calm?

I mean, it feels like that everywhere now. People just lose their minds over limited stuff, from comics to sneakers to those Stanley cups.
