That 1976 Swamp Thing issue actually made me put down my phone

Picked up a beat up copy for $3 at a flea market in Dayton, mostly for the cover art. The pacing was so weird and slow compared to modern comics, but it honestly pulled me in harder than anything I've read this month. Has anyone else gone back to older books and found they hit different now that you're not reading them on a screen?

Right, because nothing says relaxation like squinting at a $3 gem from 1976 while my phone buzzes with a million notifications. Slower pacing is just their version of 'take a breath, buddy.' I read one from the 80s last week and felt like I needed a nap after each page, but at least no one was trying to sell me a crypto coin in the margins.
