Showerthought: The visibility at the Port of Tacoma has gone from 2 feet to 15 feet in a year
They finally started enforcing the new sediment runoff rules for the construction project on the east side. I can actually see my gauges now without my backup light. Anyone else notice a big change in their usual dive spots lately?
My buddy dove the Duwamish last month and said it was wild. He found an old bottle he swears is from the 40s just sitting on the bottom. Said a year ago he wouldn't have seen his own hand down there, let alone some historical trash. Made me want to go check out my own murky spots.
400 feet more of a dock isn't really gonna fix the bottom of the river, you know? Cleaner water and less runoff is what actually lets you see those old bottles.
