My big batch of lentil soup turned into weird slime after 4 days

Did you rinse the lentils before cooking?

Shoutout to the network engineer in Austin who told me to stop chasing latency and look at jitter instead

You say "causing problems" like it has to be screaming at you to be annoying though lol. I had a neighbor who played music at a low level but the bass would rattle my pictures every single night. It wasn't breaking anything but it made my living room feel like I was living in a club 24/7. Sometimes the small stuff is just as bad because it grinds you down over time.

That dollar store super glue took 4 days to actually dry on my glasses hinge

That cheap glue does take forever to set, but the real problem is the bond strength. Dollar store adhesives lack the chemical cross-linking that makes pricier glues like Gorilla or Titebond hold so fast. You'll often find that after a full day, a cheap glue joint still peels apart with finger pressure. Money spent on a quality wood glue is never wasted when you need the repair to last.

Had a Monday with three no-shows, then a Tuesday where everyone tipped 30%

See it all the time in this industry... the universe gives you a terrible day just to remind you the good ones exist. @miles798 hit on something real with those reminders though, I swear the days I miss sending them are the ones people forget. It's like how traffic works, you'll sit through a four mile backup and then suddenly it clears up and you're flying. We just gotta ride the wave and not let the slow days kill the momentum.

Spent 8 years digging post holes with a clamshell digger before trying an auger

Did you see that video going around where a guy turned his clamshell digger into a rain gauge after switching to an auger? Tbh I think that's the real lesson here, we all just assume the manual way is the only way until something hurts bad enough to change. I swear half the contractors I know are still digging post holes like it's 1950 because they're too stubborn to spend sixty bucks at the depot.
